I am an actuary by profession and have been with the Discovery Group for 9 years. I started in the Life business and then moved into the Vitality business. I was based in Germany for 2 years to help implement Vitality in Europe. I developed a keen interest in data science and eventually moved into this space when coming back to South Africa. I now head the Data Science team for Vitality RSA, with my expertise lying in linking data science to business. I believe that through the relevant use of data science, a lot of additional business value can be unlocked and guidance in decision making can be made.
